Week 5 of the ESL Pro Series Season X has begun, and we have another week of great matches in store for everyone! Starting off the week on Monday, June 30th, NoDice Gaming takes on Team Coast, who make their return to the EPS after their weekend in London for the NACS finals. To finish up the night we’ll have XDG Virtus facing off against Area of Effect. Matches continue the next day with Team 8 squaring off against Team LoLPro, also returning after their NACS finals match in London, and Area of Effect will wrap up the week against Curse Academy.

NoDice Gaming vs Team Coast (6/30/14 17:30PDT / 20:30EDT)

The start of the week brings us NoDice Gaming, who are sitting at second place on the standings, taking on Team Coast who follow right behind them at third. Team Coast will be returning after their successful weekend in London where they defeated Team LoLPro 2-0 to take first place. Coast will need this momentum coming in to Week 5, as NDG has proven to be a tough contender this season.

XDG Virtus vs Area of Effect (6/30/14 19:30PDT / 22:30EDT)

To finish off the night we’ll have XDG Virtus and Area of Effect in a match that might just reverse their spots on the standings depending on the outcome. If XDG Virtus can take this match they’ll end up one spot ahead of AoE and will end the week satisfied, though if they lose it might just give AoE the momentum they need to climb farther up the standings as they come into their Day 2 game against Curse Academy.

Team 8 vs Team LoLPro (7/1/14 17:30PDT / 20:30EDT)

Kicking off Day 2 for us will be Team 8, who are currently sitting in first place, and Team LoLPro, who are sitting near the bottom of the standings. LoLPro will be playing catch-up in the coming weeks after having to reschedule some of their matches due to the NACS finals in London where they fell to Team Coast. Despite this, they’ll need to focus on their upcoming matches if they hope to stay in the EPS playoffs running. Team 8 on the other hand have been on a winning streak lately, and it seems LoLPro will not have an easy return to the season.

Area of Effect vs Curse Academy (7/1/14 19:30PDT / 22:30PDT)

Wrapping up the week for us is Area of Effect and Curse Academy. Both teams have had their ups and downs so far this season, and with only a few weeks left Curse Academy will need this win more than anything if they want a stronger foothold on the standings by the end of the regular season. AoE are sitting in a more comfortable 3rd place, but they also need to pick up a few wins this week if they plan on keeping that spot. The season will only get tougher from here as teams will bring their A game more than ever to maintain their playoffs spots.
