EPS Season X Week 2 Preview
Week 2 of the ESL Pro Series Season X is here, and we have a week of exciting matches in store for everyone! Matches will begin on Monday, June 9th with Team Coast taking on Team LoLPro, followed by Curse Academy facing off against Team 8 to round off the night. Matches continue the next day with Frank Fang Gaming squaring off against Area of Effect, with XDG Virtus wrapping up the week with NoDice Gaming.
Team Coast vs Team LoLPro (6/9/14 17:30PDT / 20:30PDT)
Kicking off the week is former LCS team Coast up against LoLPro. Last week Team Coast took down XDG Virtus in a solid 2-0 victory, which leaves them sitting in first place alongside NoDice Gaming. If they want to hold on to this position, they’ll need to get through LoLPro with at least one win under their belts and hope XDG Virtus can 2-0 NoDice.
Curse Academy vs Team 8 (6/9/14 19:30PDT / 22:30PDT)
For the last match of the night, Curse Academy and Team 8 will battle it out for a more secure footing on the leaderboard. Both teams went 1-1 in their matches last week against Team LoLPro and Area of Effect respectively, so they’ll be looking to show they’re still top contenders in the league.
Frank Fang Gaming vs Area of Effect (6/10/14 17:30PDT / 20:30PDT)
Frank Fang Gaming and Area of Effect are two of the newer teams on the scene and will be kicking off Day 2 of this week’s EPS matches and FFG are going to need this win more than anything to pick themselves up from the bottom of the standings. AoE on the other hand took a game off of Team 8 last week, who has had some success around the Challenger scene the past few months. If FFG want to topple AoE, they better prepare themselves for a tough fight.
XDG Virtus vs NoDice Gaming (6/10/14 19:30PDT / 22:30PDT)
For the last match of the week we have XDG’s new team Virtus up against a team that’s not new to the EPS, NoDice Gaming. Last season left them sitting in 6th place, but with the strong start they’ve had this season, expect to see them higher up in the standings by the end. XDG Virtus has had a far weaker start this season and sits in last place with Frank Fang Gaming at 0 points. If they want to dig themselves out of the hole they’re in, they need to end this series with a 2-0 victory.
